Vail Wedding Proposal - Vail Wedding Deck Winter Edition

We are officially into what is known as mud-season in the valley.  Restaurants are shut, businesses are closed and hard working seasonal employees are heading to sunnier locales to get some much deserved rest.

Now that I'm working for myself (a year round employee of sorts), instead of traipsing around the globe like I would have in previous years, I'm using the time to catch up on posts and working on a couple of very exciting business developments.  More on that in the next post.  On the topic of catching up on posts though, here are the images from my last wedding proposal for the season.

This proposal was planned over the course of a few months.  A location was picked, a location was changed, a date was chosen, a date was changed, flights were booked and flights were changed (that included flights for both sets of parents too!).  However, it all came together perfectly.  The plan was for me to board the gondola and they would board 10 minutes later.  This gave me time to get in position and they arrived right on cue.  The weather was unbeatable and she was completely surprised.  There were many tears and celebrating with their parents made the whole day complete.

Vail Mountain Wedding Proposal - Eagle's Nest

Another winter season if officially over and done with! With all of the warm weather this winter, there were plenty of gorgeous wedding proposals up on the hill. This one was one for the books though. The poor chap accidentally hopped on the wrong gondola! With lots of stealthy text messages, some creative story telling to keep it credible and a few deep breaths, he made up to Eagle's Nest. To top it all off, an unsuspecting tourist nearly walked into the shot, but with a few hand gestures and loud whispers, he got the message and I got the shots! Now bring on the sunshine and wedding season.

Vail and Beaver Creek Engagement Photos

We're into the last week of the ski season and what a season it's been.  By far, this has been the warmest winter I've ever had in my last 13 years living here.  There's no snow  left on the ground around town, which seems a bit crazy now that I'm posting these photos and they weren't taken that long ago!

We started this session in Beaver Creek and then made our way over to little park in West Vail.  Both locations worked great and the weather was extremely cooperative (even though these Florida natives were a little cold by the end).  I did a shoot a few days later with a large family at the same park and they were constantly shaking the snow out of their hair, and the visibility was really low.

These are some of my favorites from this wonderful engagement session!
