Vail Baby and Family Photographer - Baby Gianna and Family

I got to do a fun session last week with the Flynn Family in Edwards.  I've had the pleasure of shooting photos for this family on several occasions and as the family expands, we just keep having more fun.  Gianna was 4 weeks old at the time of the shoot and she was such a perfect wee thing.  Big brother Declan was a total ham and had me laughing for most of the morning.  I've included a couple of shots in here that would normally be considered outtakes, but I think they also show the essence of their family.
The Flynn Family .

Mom and Gianna had left the room, so this was a candid shot of Declan getting in some quality time with Dad.

This one would also be considered an outtake, but it makes me laugh.  It was supposed to be a shot of Gianna and Vicki, but Declan wanted to be part of it.  Gianna looks happy that he decided to join them.

Baby Josiah in Edwards, Colorado

It's been a little while since I've had the chance to shoot a newborn, so it was a lot of fun to shoot Baby Josiah the other day.  He was only 10 days old at the time of the photo session, but you'd never know he was so new.  He was so alert and interested in everything that was going on.  Unfortunately this meant we weren't able to get any of the lovely sleepy shots that we were hoping for, but it didn't matter because he has such lovely eyes!

Here are a few from our session that I really like.

The Hooker Family Photo Session in Eagle Vail, Colorado.

The last time I took photos for the Hooker's, it was only Jen, her 4 month old son Trace and Jen's mother Marcy.  Marcy is the leader of our Mountain Mama Care group, that I have written about in previous posts. Jen had asked me to help her with some family photos again and she wanted a similar style to our last session, using a black back drop.  This time around, I got to shoot the whole family though, with 3 generations and 3 dogs!

Here are a few of the photos from the session.
Marcy and her dog, Juicy.

Older brother Wyatt was able to join in the fun this time.

Studio Photos in Edwards with Miss Evelyn. Through the Lens Series, Entry 33

Now that the weather has turned and Vail finally has some snow, my work is heading back indoors for the winter.  With all of the weddings and outdoor sessions from the summer, it has been a while since I've done a studio shoot.  When Jenny called and asked me to photos of Evelyn at 4 weeks old, it was time for me to dust of the props and load up the car.

Luckily for me, they had some wonderful lighting in their house, so I didn't need to bother with the studio lights.  Natural lighting is always going to produce much nicer lighting.  Evelyn was amazingly calm and patient throughout the whole shoot.  She let us dress her up in all kinds of fun girly outfits!  I could go on and on, but she really is a beautiful baby (as you can tell by the photos).

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the session.

Studio Portraits with Ben in Eagle Vail. Through the Lens Series, Entry 21.

The last time I took studio photos of Benjamin, he was only a few weeks old and I was 36 weeks pregnant.  He was such a fantastic model at such a young age that I knew we would get some great shots of him at a recent studio session.

He certainly didn't disappoint us and we had such a fun time with all kinds of props including cameras, blocks and chairs.  It was a great help having his Grandparents behind me stomping and waving at him and making him smile.  Having his Mom and Dad there with some funny props  was a tremendous help also.

Maxwell has just moved up to his 3rd classroom at daycare and after his first day in the new room, the teachers commented that Ben looked after Maxwell all day long.  So I am eternally grateful to this gorgeous wee man for looking after my little guy.

Here are a few of the photos from our fun morning.

This shot makes me think of the Little Rascals for some reason.

Ben was really interested in what was going on behind my camera.  The only problem was that I couldn't take any photos of him if he was on the same side of the lens as me, so we got him his own.  I see a shutter bug in the making!

Ben was so tired after modeling all morning, but we managed to get one last shot outside with his grandparents.

Studio Portraits in Edwards, Colorado with Declan

One more quick sneak peak from from another family session this weekend with sweet baby Declan. Talk about multi-tasking. Decs managed to squeeze in baby male modelling, playing host to a gaggle of other babies in his house for the afternoon and a quick nap! He's a star :)

Jessica's Maternity Session. Gypsum, Colorado.

This photo session is long past overdue to be posted, but sometimes life can get a little hectic with a little one. I had the good fortune of working with Jessica on numerous events at The Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail and we were both due with o...ur first babies at the same time. We'd host events once a week and it was always a good chance to catch up on each other's pregnancies. Baby Hank has moved on from the mountains and is now living it up on the beach!
