Engagement Photo Sessions are definitely high on my list of favorite shoots. Don't get me wrong. I love taking photos of newborns and babies, but being able to tell someone to stand a certain way or to raise their chin just a hair, makes for a much easier and more time efficient shoot. Plus you don't have the pressure that comes with wedding photography.
So of course I was excited to be able to take Jesse and Jenna's engagement photos in Vail Village a couple of weeks ago. We opted for a Friday evening, which happened to coincide with the infamous Blizzard Sale, so there was an unseasonably large crowd in the village. It took a little digging around, but we managed to find some quieter spots. Getting the shots on the Covered Bridge proved to be a little tricky with the crowds, but we waited for a few very quick windows of time when no one was walking over the bridge. There were a couple of groups that were very patient and gave us a couple of seconds to get the shots too.
Jesse and Jenna will be getting married next year, so a big congratulations to them and I also need to give a shout out to our mutual friend Jeselyn who recommended me to take their photos.

Park Hyatt, Beaver Creek Wedding in Colorado
It's always nice to be able to shoot for a family that you've worked for before. I shot Brice and Jen's wedding at Beaver Creek last year, so when Jen's sister Nicole asked me to photograph her wedding in Beaver Creek during the holidays, I jumped at the chance. It was a beautiful winter wedding at the Park Hyatt in Beaver Creek, overlooking the ice-skating rink at sunset. Congratulations!

Vail Wedding with Kimber and Phil at Antlers and Manor Vail. Vail, Colorado.
The weather on September 17th was torrential rain and Kimber and Phil were set to be married outside at The Betty Ford Alpine Garden's that afternoon. At the last minute, it was decided that the wedding would be moved inside to Manor Vail. This decision would have thrown a lot of brides, (you know how long bride's think about these things!) but Kimber handled it with grace and they had a beautiful ceremony in front of the gorgeous fireplace inside The Lord Gore restaurant. Here are a few pics from their special day.

Jessie and Brian's Wedding. Vail Chapel and Donovan Pavilion. Vail, Colorado.
I've never had a chance to shoot a wedding in the Vail Chapel, so I was super ex...cited to shoot Jessie and Brian's Wedding there a few weeks ago. This was such a fun wedding to shoot, with lots of Vail locals in attendance. If you're wondering about the dance photo, I can sum it up with one word...Journey!

Shannon and Jason's Wedding. Beaver Creek, Colorado.
Somehow I always end up shooting wedding's in Vail, so it's always a nice change to get to shoot a wedding in Beaver Creek. Shannon and Jason were married on the lawn outside The Osprey a couple of weeks ago, on what seemed to be the last Saturday of Summer. It was such a beautiful day and their timing couldn't have been better, because we'll definitely be seeing some snow here before we know it. Congratulations Shannon and Jason!

Maggie and Dave's Winter Wedding - Vail, CO.
Maggie was one of the rare brides who has spent plenty of time organizing weddings for other people. I should know - we worked in Group Sales together for Vail Resorts. Seeing that Maggie has helped so many other brides make their way down the aisle, it was ironic that she was one of the most laid back brides when it came to her own wedding. My theory is, the more you relax, the more fun you're going to have! Maggie's dress was absolutely stunning and the weather was amazing. The ceremony was at her parent's house with a reception at The Wildflower at the Lodge at Vail. Here are a few of my favorite pics from their big day. They're such a cute couple!
