Vail Family Photograher - Khorrami Family

You really can't go wrong with the choice of locations offered up in the hills of Cordillera.  It's easily once of the best places in the valley for shooting with the huge Aspen groves and the amazing mountain views.  This made things easier for my shoot with the Khorrami family during their recent stay in there.

It was a super sunny day, which is always great on any given day, but not particularly great for photos.  Because of the conditions, we started the shoot on a gorgeous trail to get some shade and more flattering light.  As the sun started to come down and a few clouds started to roll in, we were able to move onto location number two - the mountain views from the meadow beside the indoor pool facility.  From there, we were able to move to the overlook just beside the entrance to the golf course.  It's a fantastic spot with split rail fences and north facing views for miles.

People often ask what colors to wear for photos.  As you can see from the pictures below, blue is a great choice for the summer, when we're shooting up against so much greenery.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Cordillera Family Photos - Sharp Family

One of the things I've enjoyed most about this summer is seeing so many of my past clients as they've come back for their annual family vacations.  It's fun to see how much the kids have grown from last year and to catch up with everyone again.  This recent shoot with the Sharp Family was exactly one of those.

We shot up in Cordillera and of course the scenery was gorgeous, but the light was a little harsh at the first location we tried. Because of the conditions, we decided to head to a second location that had a little more coverage from the harsh sunlight.  This location proved to be much better.  Not only was there great lighting,  there was also plenty to keep the children entertained.  We were in a giant aspen grove, so of course there was dirt, sticks and wildflowers!  What's not to love.  Here's the highlight reel from our session.
